Overview
AnyDesk exists because remote support tools were slow. The codec it uses was written for interactive work rather than video playback, so a session over an ordinary connection still feels close to local: the cursor tracks, menus open without a lag, and typing does not arrive in bursts. That single property is why support desks keep it installed on every machine they touch.
The build posted here has the professional limits lifted, which means the session count is not capped, the address book is unlimited, unattended access with a stored password can be configured on any endpoint, and the branding and permission profile controls are available. Everything else about the client is the standard release.
Practical use goes past screen sharing. Files drag between machines through the transfer panel or the shared clipboard, a session can be recorded to a local video file for documentation, printing can be redirected so a remote document comes out of the local printer, and the permission profile decides in advance what a connecting party can and cannot touch. The portable mode runs without installing, which matters when the machine you are fixing should not gain a permanent service.
What it does well
Responsive sessions
The interactive codec holds a usable frame rate on thin connections, which keeps menu navigation and typing feeling direct rather than delayed.
Unattended access
Set a fixed access password on an endpoint and connect to it without anyone sitting at the far side, with an allowlist limiting who can ask.
File transfer and clipboard
Drag files between machines through a dedicated panel or the shared clipboard, with resume on interrupted transfers.
Permission profiles
Decide per connection whether the far side may control input, hear audio, use the clipboard, transfer files, lock the remote keyboard or draw on screen.
Session recording and portable mode
Record a session to a local file for documentation, and run the client without installation when a permanent service is not wanted.
Changes in this build
- Codec tuning reduced bandwidth on mostly static screens, which helps on metered links.
- Address book handling reworked so large lists sort and search without a pause.
- Improved multi monitor handling with per-display selection during a live session.
- Wake on LAN behaviour fixed on endpoints that sleep aggressively.
- Lower idle resource use for the background service.

Installation
- Extract the archive and close any running instance from the tray.
- Run the installer, or start the portable executable if you do not want a service.
- Apply the included configuration step before the first connection.
- Set an unattended access password if the machine will be reached without a person present.
- Turn the updater off in settings so the configuration is not replaced.
Before you start
Letting the client update itself puts the standard limits back, disable that first.
A firewall prompt appears on first run, allow it on the private profile or incoming sessions fail.
Session recordings are written uncompressed by default and grow quickly, point them at a spare drive.
Questions about this title
Does it work through a router without port forwarding?
Yes, sessions negotiate through the relay path when a direct route is unavailable.
Can I run it without installing?
Yes, the portable executable runs from a folder or a USB drive.
Is unattended access included?
Yes, a fixed access password can be set on any endpoint in this configuration.
How many sessions at once?
The session cap is lifted here, so concurrent connections are limited only by bandwidth.
About this listing
This entry was checked on a clean install of Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11 before it was published, and it is rechecked whenever the package is rebuilt. The figures on this page come from the site index rather than from the publisher, so the download count is what people here have actually pulled.
If a mirror stops answering, use the contact form and it gets replaced. Reports about a specific title are handled faster than general messages because they name the file, the mirror and the point at which the transfer stopped.
Requests for a different version, a different language build or an older release go on the requests page. Older versions of a title are usually still held even when only the current one is listed.
