Overview
iTop VPN is a plain desktop client rather than a configuration exercise. Install it, pick a location from a list, and the tunnel comes up. The server list is grouped by what people actually use a VPN for, with sections for general browsing, streaming services, gaming latency and file transfer, which saves guessing which of two hundred entries will behave.
The premium configuration in this package lifts the bandwidth cap, opens the full server list rather than the handful a free account sees, allows several devices on the same configuration, and removes the advertising panel from the client window. Protocol selection covers the modern options with an automatic mode that picks based on how the connection behaves.
The features that matter for daily use are the ones around the tunnel rather than the tunnel itself. A kill switch drops all traffic if the connection fails rather than quietly falling back to the open network. Split tunnelling routes chosen applications outside the tunnel, which is how you keep a banking site or a local network printer working while everything else goes through the VPN. Auto connect rules can bring the tunnel up on untrusted wireless networks without being asked.
What it does well
Servers grouped by purpose
The list is organised into browsing, streaming, gaming and transfer sections with load and latency shown per server.
Kill switch
If the tunnel drops, network traffic is blocked rather than silently continuing outside it, with a per-application option.
Split tunnelling
Route chosen applications outside the tunnel so local network devices and location sensitive services keep working normally.
Protocol selection
Pick the tunnelling protocol manually or leave it on automatic, which switches based on how the connection is performing.
Auto connect rules
Bring the tunnel up automatically on untrusted wireless networks or when a chosen application starts.

Before you start
Two VPN clients installed at once will fight over the routing table, keep only one.
The kill switch blocks traffic by design, if the network stops working check whether it is still engaged.
Letting the client update itself will replace the premium configuration.

About this listing
This entry was checked on a clean install of Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11 (64-bit) before it was published, and it is rechecked whenever the package is rebuilt. The figures on this page come from the site index rather than from the publisher, so the download count is what people here have actually pulled.
If a mirror stops answering, use the contact form and it gets replaced. Reports about a specific title are handled faster than general messages because they name the file, the mirror and the point at which the transfer stopped.
Requests for a different version, a different language build or an older release go on the requests page. Older versions of a title are usually still held even when only the current one is listed.
