Overview

VirtualDJ replaced turntables and CD decks for a very large number of working DJs, and the current release is mostly about what it does to a track once it is loaded. Real time stem separation splits any file into vocals, instruments, drums and bass while it plays, which means an acapella and an instrumental exist for every track in the library without preparing anything in advance.

The mixing surface is the familiar two or four deck layout with waveforms, hot cues, loop rolls, beat grids, key detection and a sampler. Everything is beat aware: loops stay in time, effects sync to the grid, and the automatic mix mode can hold a room while the DJ steps away. Key detection feeds a harmonic matching view so the next track suggestion is not just tempo compatible.

The Pro Infinity configuration is the one without the walls. The free tier limits controller use, video output and several of the newer separation features to short sessions. This build carries the full set: unlimited controller support, video and karaoke mixing with transitions and effects, the complete effect and sampler content, and broadcast output for streaming a set.

Library handling deserves a mention because it is where a set actually gets built. The database scans a music folder, reads tags, computes BPM and key on import, and holds crates, filters and smart lists that update themselves. Playback history is written per session, which is what most venues want when they ask for a track report.

What it does well

Real time stem separation

Vocals, instruments, drums and bass split live on the deck, so acapellas, instrumentals and drum-only passes are available for any track in the library.

Beat aware everything

Grids, loops, rolls, effects and the sampler all lock to tempo, with key detection driving a harmonic compatibility view for track selection.

Controller support

Native mappings for a very wide hardware range plus a mapper for anything unlisted, with no session time limit in this configuration.

Video and karaoke

Mix video files and karaoke tracks with transitions, effects and a separate output window for a projector or a second screen.

Library and reporting

Automatic BPM and key analysis on import, smart crates that refresh themselves, and a per-session play history export.

Changes in this build

  • Stem separation quality improved on dense mixes with less bleed into the vocal stem.
  • Lower CPU cost for separation on four deck setups.
  • New effect set with tempo locked filters and gated delays.
  • Controller mapper rebuilt with a searchable action list.
  • Broadcast output gained a direct encoder path for common streaming targets.

What is in the package

  • VirtualDJ installer, 64-bit
  • Stem separation models for offline use
  • Full effect, transition and sampler content
  • Controller mapping library
  • Multilingual interface files, 21 languages

System requirements

ProcessorIntel or AMD 64-bit, quad core minimum for live separation
Memory8 GB minimum, 16 GB for four deck and video work
GraphicsGPU with 2 GB VRAM for the video mixing path
Storage2 GB free plus library and cache space
Display1600 x 900 minimum, second output for video sets
AudioASIO compatible interface or a supported controller

Installation

  1. Extract the archive and disconnect any controller before setup.
  2. Run the installer and let the audio driver component register.
  3. Apply the included configuration step before launching.
  4. Reconnect the controller and confirm the mapping is detected.
  5. Point the library at your music folder and let the first analysis pass finish.

Before you start

The first library analysis is CPU heavy. Run it before a gig, not during one.

Live separation scales with deck count, drop to two decks on older hardware.

Let the updater run and the configuration is replaced. Turn it off in settings.

Questions about this title

Is stem separation offline?

Yes, the models are bundled and run on the machine.

Does my controller work?

Most current hardware has a native mapping, and the mapper covers anything missing.

Can it mix video?

Yes, video and karaoke mixing are part of this configuration with a separate output window.

Is there a session time limit?

No, the caps that apply to the free tier are not present here.

About this listing

This entry was checked on a clean install of Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) before it was published, and it is rechecked whenever the package is rebuilt. The figures on this page come from the site index rather than from the publisher, so the download count is what people here have actually pulled.

If a mirror stops answering, use the contact form and it gets replaced. Reports about a specific title are handled faster than general messages because they name the file, the mirror and the point at which the transfer stopped.

Requests for a different version, a different language build or an older release go on the requests page. Older versions of a title are usually still held even when only the current one is listed.
