Overview
Continuum is the catch-all effect collection that gets installed once and then quietly does half the work on every job afterwards. It covers several hundred filters and transitions organised into units: lights and optics, image restoration, keying and compositing, particles, titling, film and video looks, warps, and a set of generators for backgrounds and elements.
It installs into whichever hosts are on the machine, so the same effect with the same parameters is available in a timeline editor, a compositor and a grading application. Presets carry across, which is what makes it useful on a facility machine where a look agreed in one room has to be reproduced in another.
The tracking and masking layer underneath is what separates it from a bag of filters. The planar tracker is built into every effect that needs one, so a blur, a light wrap or a beauty pass can follow a moving surface without exporting data to another tool. Masks are drawn once and shared across effects on the same clip.
The units people reach for most are the optics and restoration sets. Lens flares with real optical elements, glow and light rays, depth-aware blurs, and on the repair side deflicker, dust and scratch removal, chroma noise cleanup and a reframing stabiliser. Between them they cover most of the emergencies that turn up in a client review.
What it does well
Several hundred filters
Organised into optics, restoration, keying, particles, titling, looks, warps and generators, all sharing a common parameter model.
Runs in every host
Installs into the timeline editors, compositors and grading applications present on the machine, with presets that transfer between them.
Built in planar tracking
Tracking sits inside the effects that need it, so masks and treatments follow a moving surface without a round trip.
Restoration set
Deflicker, dust and scratch removal, chroma noise cleanup, deband and a reframing stabiliser for salvaging problem material.
Titling and particles
A full title system with 3D extrusion and materials, plus a particle engine with emitters, forces and collision for practical elements.
Changes in this build
- New optics unit with physically modelled lens elements and aperture shapes.
- Restoration filters rewritten on the GPU, several times faster on long clips.
- Title system gained variable font axes and per-character animation.
- Preset browser rebuilt with live thumbnails rendered from the current clip.
- Host support extended to the current cycle of the major editors and compositors.
What is in the package
- Continuum installer covering all supported hosts, 64-bit
- Full filter and transition unit set
- Planar tracking module
- Preset library with per-unit browsers
- Sample projects demonstrating the restoration and optics units
System requirements
| Processor | 64-bit multicore, 8 cores recommended |
| Memory | 16 GB minimum, 32 GB for 4K work |
| Graphics | GPU with 6 GB VRAM for the accelerated filters |
| Storage | 12 GB free |
| Display | 1920 x 1080 minimum |
| System | Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit, with at least one supported host installed |
Installation
- Install the host applications first and launch each one once.
- Close every host including background render engines.
- Run the installer and tick the hosts you want it registered against.
- Apply the included licence step before opening a host.
- Open a host, apply one filter, and let the preset thumbnails build on first use.
Before you start
Register it against every host at install time, adding one later means running setup again.
The preset browser renders live thumbnails, which is slow the first time on a long clip.
Effects from an older Continuum cycle are replaced, existing projects relink automatically but should be checked.
Questions about this title
Which hosts are supported?
The installer detects the timeline editors, compositors and grading applications on the machine and lists them.
Is the tracker included?
Yes, planar tracking is built into the effects that use it.
Does it replace an older install?
Yes, and projects relink to the new versions on open.
Can it be installed on a render node?
Yes, run the same installer and register it against the render engine.
About this listing
This entry was checked on a clean install of Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) before it was published, and it is rechecked whenever the package is rebuilt. The figures on this page come from the site index rather than from the publisher, so the download count is what people here have actually pulled.
If a mirror stops answering, use the contact form and it gets replaced. Reports about a specific title are handled faster than general messages because they name the file, the mirror and the point at which the transfer stopped.
Requests for a different version, a different language build or an older release go on the requests page. Older versions of a title are usually still held even when only the current one is listed.
