Overview
Capture One is the raw processor that commercial and studio photographers keep choosing over the alternatives, and the reason is almost always colour. The profiles are built per camera body rather than generically, skin tones hold without correction, and the colour editor lets a single hue range be isolated and adjusted without a mask. For product work where a client has an exact brand colour, that precision is the whole job.
Tethered capture is the other half of the argument. Images land on the machine as they are shot, with a capture recipe applied on the way in, and the studio can review at full size on a second screen while the session continues. Overlays let a shot be composed against a layout, and live view drives focus from the computer on macro and copy work.
Editing is layer based rather than a single stack of sliders. Every adjustment can go on its own layer with a mask, masks can be drawn, gradient based, luminosity based or generated from a subject selection, and layers carry opacity. Healing and cloning work on their own layers too, so a retouch stays reversible.
The Enterprise configuration adds the pieces built for teams and larger shoots: scripting and automation hooks, a token based file naming system that can pull from metadata and job fields, network export destinations, and the ability to lock a working setup so a shared studio machine behaves the same for everyone who sits at it.
What it does well
Colour handling
Per-body camera profiles, an advanced colour editor with isolated hue ranges, and skin tone tools that hold consistency across a set.
Tethered capture
Live import with capture recipes applied on the way in, composition overlays, live view focus control and full screen client review.
Layer based editing
Every adjustment on its own masked layer, with drawn, gradient, luminosity and subject based masks plus reversible healing and cloning.
Sessions and catalogues
Work in a self contained session folder for a single job, or a catalogue for a long running archive, and move material between the two.
Enterprise automation
Scripting hooks, token based naming from metadata and job fields, network export destinations and lockable workstation configurations.
Changes in this build
- New camera and lens profiles for recent bodies including medium format backs.
- Subject and sky mask generation improved and moved onto the GPU.
- Tethering stability improved on long studio sessions with high capture rates.
- Export engine parallelised, cutting batch output time on large sets.
- Colour editor gained a numeric readout for matching an exact target value.

Installation
- Extract the archive to a local drive.
- Disconnect any tethered camera before running setup.
- Run the installer and let the tethering drivers register.
- Apply the included activation step before first launch.
- Open once, set the cache location to a fast drive, and create a session template.
Before you start
Tethering needs the bundled driver, the generic system driver will connect but drop frames.
Sessions are self contained folders, which makes archiving a job far simpler than pulling it out of a catalogue.
A catalogue upgraded by this release will not open in an earlier version.
Questions about this title
Is this the Enterprise tier?
Yes, with the scripting, token naming, network export and workstation locking features present.
Does tethering work with my camera?
The supported body list covers the current professional and enthusiast ranges from the major makers.
Sessions or catalogue?
Sessions for individual jobs, catalogues for an ongoing archive. Both are available and material moves between them.
Does it round trip to a pixel editor?
Yes, edit externally and the result returns into the same session or catalogue.
About this listing
This entry was checked on a clean install of Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) before it was published, and it is rechecked whenever the package is rebuilt. The figures on this page come from the site index rather than from the publisher, so the download count is what people here have actually pulled.
If a mirror stops answering, use the contact form and it gets replaced. Reports about a specific title are handled faster than general messages because they name the file, the mirror and the point at which the transfer stopped.
Requests for a different version, a different language build or an older release go on the requests page. Older versions of a title are usually still held even when only the current one is listed.
