Overview
This is the Professional image with everything most people immediately uninstall taken out before the install rather than after. The bundled store applications, the telemetry and diagnostic services, the assistant, the advertising and content delivery components, the games and the several background tasks that exist to serve them are all removed from the image, which is why it is roughly half the size of the standard media.
The result runs noticeably lighter on modest hardware. Memory use at idle is lower, the disk is quieter because nothing is indexing content nobody asked for, and the first boot completes without the setup screens that spend a few minutes configuring services. On an older laptop or a machine with a small SSD and four gigabytes of memory, the difference is not subtle.
What stays is the working system: the desktop, file explorer, networking, printing, audio, the driver stack, the update path, and the Professional features including BitLocker, Hyper-V, Remote Desktop hosting and the Group Policy editor. The all in one image also carries a standard configuration for anyone who wants the untrimmed system from the same media.

Installation
- Verify the checksum before writing the image.
- Write the ISO to a USB drive of 8 GB or larger.
- Back up the target disk before starting a clean install.
- Boot the media and pick the trimmed or standard configuration at setup.
- Complete setup and confirm the activation state in system settings.
Before you start
Removed components cannot be added back individually, a feature you need later means reinstalling from standard media.
