Overview

IObit Uninstaller does the same core job as any removal tool, running an application's uninstaller and then cleaning up what it left behind, but it is built for volume. Tick fifteen applications, start the batch, and it works through them without needing a click for each one, then runs a single leftover scan across the whole set.

The categorised list is what makes a first pass fast on a machine that has been in use for years. Applications are grouped as recently installed, large, rarely used, bundled with something else and unnecessary, so the obvious candidates surface without going through the whole list by hand. Browser extensions, toolbars and plugins appear in the same interface, which is where a lot of the actual clutter lives.

The stubborn program remover handles software that has no working uninstaller left, and the Windows component tools remove the preinstalled applications the system does not otherwise let go of. An install monitor logs what new software writes so it can be reversed precisely, and a file shredder handles anything that has to be gone rather than deleted.

What it does well

Batch removal

Select many applications and remove them in one unattended run, followed by a single leftover scan across the whole batch.

Categorised list

Recently installed, large, rarely used and bundled applications grouped so the obvious candidates are visible immediately.

Browser cleanup

Extensions, toolbars, plugins and injected search settings managed from the same interface as installed software.

Stubborn removal

Force removal of software whose own uninstaller is broken or gone, working from the install path and registry footprint.

Install monitor

Log exactly what a new installation writes so the removal later is precise rather than approximate.

Changes in this build

  • Leftover database extended so more applications clean up fully.
  • Batch removal made faster with better handling of installers that demand a restart.
  • Browser extension detection updated for the current browser families.
  • Windows component removal list reworked for the current system releases.
  • Reduced background resource use when the monitor is running.

Installation

  1. Extract the archive to a local folder.
  2. Run setup and decline any additional products offered during install.
  3. Enable the install monitor if you want future installations logged.
  4. Create a restore point before the first batch removal.
  5. Turn off automatic updates so the build stays as installed.

Before you start

Removing Windows components is not always reversible without reinstalling the system, be deliberate about it.

The installer offers other products from the same publisher, decline them.

Keep the restore point option enabled, batch removals touch a lot at once.

What about software with no uninstaller?

The stubborn removal tool works from the install path and registry footprint.

Can it remove preinstalled Windows applications?

Yes, though some are harder to restore afterwards than others.

About this listing

This entry was checked on a clean install of Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11 before it was published, and it is rechecked whenever the package is rebuilt. The figures on this page come from the site index rather than from the publisher, so the download count is what people here have actually pulled.

If a mirror stops answering, use the contact form and it gets replaced. Reports about a specific title are handled faster than general messages because they name the file, the mirror and the point at which the transfer stopped.

Requests for a different version, a different language build or an older release go on the requests page. Older versions of a title are usually still held even when only the current one is listed.
