Overview

KMS Tools is a launcher that collects the individual utilities from the same author into one window. Rather than tracking down a separate build for each Windows edition and each Office release, everything sits in one portable package and each tool can be run from the list or extracted on its own.

The collection covers the common cases: Windows client and server editions, the perpetual Office releases, the click to run configurations, and the retail to volume conversion step that some editions need before anything else will apply. There is also a state checker that reports what is currently installed and how it is licensed, which is usually the right first thing to run.

It is portable, so nothing installs. Extract the package, run the launcher, use the tool you need, close it. The utilities inside are the same standalone builds distributed separately, bundled here at matching versions so they do not conflict with each other.

What it does well

One launcher

Every utility in the set listed in a single window, with a short description of what each one does before you run it.

State checker

Reports the installed edition, the current licensing channel and the remaining state, so you know what actually needs doing.

Retail to volume

Converts editions that need a channel change first, which is the step most failures come down to.

Portable

Nothing is installed and nothing is left behind. Extract, run, delete the folder.

Extractable tools

Each utility can be pulled out and used standalone, at the same version as the rest of the set.

Changes in this build

  • Utilities refreshed to their current standalone versions.
  • Support added for the newest Office click to run configurations.
  • Launcher list reordered with clearer descriptions per tool.
  • Fixed a launcher crash on systems with a non-Latin user folder name.
  • Reduced package size by removing duplicated shared components.

Installation

  1. Extract the package to a folder you can delete afterwards.
  2. Add that folder to the security software exclusion list, the tools are flagged by pattern.
  3. Run the launcher as administrator.
  4. Run the state checker first to see what is actually installed.
  5. Pick the matching tool for your edition and follow its single button flow.

Before you start

Security software flags these on heuristics. Exclude the folder before extraction or the files disappear mid-unpack.

Run the state checker before anything else, it saves guessing which tool applies.

Editions on a retail channel need the conversion step first, otherwise nothing else takes.

About this listing

This entry was checked on a clean install of Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11 before it was published, and it is rechecked whenever the package is rebuilt. The figures on this page come from the site index rather than from the publisher, so the download count is what people here have actually pulled.

If a mirror stops answering, use the contact form and it gets replaced. Reports about a specific title are handled faster than general messages because they name the file, the mirror and the point at which the transfer stopped.

Requests for a different version, a different language build or an older release go on the requests page. Older versions of a title are usually still held even when only the current one is listed.
