Overview
KMSOffline is the simplest tool in this category. One executable, one window, a button, and a log pane that tells you what happened. It does not install, it does not leave a service behind, and it does not contact anything. On a machine that has never been connected to a network it behaves exactly as it does on one that has.
Detection is automatic. It reads what Windows edition is present and which Office suites are installed, then handles both without asking you to identify anything from a list. The supported range covers the volume editions of Windows from the older releases through the current ones, the Server editions, and the volume Office suites across several generations.
There is a small set of extra operations behind the interface for the cases that need them: checking the current status without changing anything, converting a retail edition to a volume one so it can be handled at all, installing or removing an optional renewal task, and a cleanup that removes every trace of the tool's work. Installation
- Extract the archive to a folder outside the system directories.
- Add a scanner exclusion for that folder before running anything.
- Run the executable with administrative rights.
- Press the main action and watch the log pane until it reports complete.
- Check the status view to confirm the result.
Before you start
Resident scanners flag tools of this type by default, that is expected for the category.
Retail editions have to be converted before the tool can do anything with them, which the interface handles.
The renewal task is optional and can be removed later from the same window.
