Overview

Resolume Arena is the visual side of a live show. Clips sit in a grid of layers and columns, get triggered from a keyboard, a controller or a timeline, and mix through blend modes and effects the same way audio channels mix through a desk. It is built to be played live rather than rendered, so every parameter responds immediately and nothing needs a preview pass.

Arena is the configuration with the mapping engine, which is what separates it from the plain performance build. Output is divided into slices that can be positioned, warped, masked, edge blended and soft edged onto physical surfaces, so a building facade, a stage set, a curved wall or a cluster of separate screens all receive the right part of the composition. Multiple projectors are aligned and blended in the same panel.

Around that sit the tools a show needs: audio analysis that drives any parameter from the incoming signal, timeline sequencing with cues for a scripted show, shader based generators and effects, camera and capture card input for live feeds, and network synchronisation so several machines run the same composition frame locked across a large installation.

What it does well

Layered clip performance

Clips in a layer and column grid triggered live, mixed with blend modes, transitions and effects that respond without a render step.

Projection mapping

Slice, warp, mask, edge blend and soft edge output onto real surfaces, with multi-projector alignment in the same panel.

Audio reactivity

Analyse the incoming signal by band and drive any parameter from it, so visuals follow the music without manual operation.

Timeline and cues

Sequence a scripted show with cue points and automation while keeping live override available at any moment.

Live input and sync

Camera and capture card sources, plus network synchronisation to keep several machines frame locked across a large installation.

Changes in this build

  • Mapping editor rebuilt with per-slice undo and numeric entry for corner points.
  • Playback engine improved for high bit rate clips on multiple layers at once.
  • New shader effect set added to the bundled library.
  • Audio analysis gained per-band smoothing controls.
  • Fixed an output flicker when switching compositions during playback.

What is in the package

  • Resolume Arena installer, 64-bit
  • Projection mapping and multi-output engine
  • Effect and generator library
  • Sample clip and composition set
  • Controller mapping presets

System requirements

Processor64-bit multicore, 6 cores or more for multi-layer playback
Memory16 GB recommended
GraphicsGPU with 6 GB VRAM, more for multiple outputs
Storage10 GB free plus clip library space
Display1920 x 1080 control screen plus the output devices
SystemWindows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit

Installation

  1. Extract the archive to a local drive.
  2. Run setup and let the video codec components install.
  3. Apply the included configuration step before the first launch.
  4. Connect the output devices before opening the mapping panel.
  5. Load the sample composition once to confirm playback and output.

Before you start

Convert clips to the bundled intermediate codec before a show, compressed delivery formats stall on multiple layers.

Save the mapping separately from the composition so a venue setup can be reloaded.

Test the full output chain at the venue, projector alignment never survives a move.

Questions about this title

What does Arena add?

The projection mapping and multi-output engine, plus edge blending and the show timeline.

Can it react to audio?

Yes, incoming audio is analysed by band and can drive any parameter.

Does it take live camera input?

Yes, cameras and capture cards appear as sources alongside clips.

Can several machines run one show?

Yes, network synchronisation keeps them frame locked.

About this listing

This entry was checked on a clean install of Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) before it was published, and it is rechecked whenever the package is rebuilt. The figures on this page come from the site index rather than from the publisher, so the download count is what people here have actually pulled.

If a mirror stops answering, use the contact form and it gets replaced. Reports about a specific title are handled faster than general messages because they name the file, the mirror and the point at which the transfer stopped.

Requests for a different version, a different language build or an older release go on the requests page. Older versions of a title are usually still held even when only the current one is listed.
