Overview

vMix replaces a rack of live production hardware with one workstation. Camera inputs, capture cards, network sources, media files, still images, titles, web pages and remote guests all arrive as inputs, and a preview and program pair with transitions, overlays and audio mixing runs the show from a single interface.

The Pro configuration lifts every limit that matters. Unlimited inputs, four overlay channels, eight recording outputs, instant replay across as many cameras as the hardware handles, and multi-corder recording of individual sources alongside the program mix so the edit afterwards has isolated angles. Resolution goes to 4K and beyond on the input and output sides.

Live production details are where it earns its place. Audio has a full mixer with per-input delay, compression, noise gating and bus routing, which is what makes a live mix sound like anything other than a mess. Titles come from an editable template set with live data fields for scores and lower thirds. Streaming goes to several destinations at once with independent bitrates, while recording continues locally at higher quality. Remote guests join through a call system that returns clean feeds with individual audio.

What it does well

Everything as an input

Cameras, capture cards, network video sources, media files, images, titles, web pages, screen captures and remote callers, all in one input list.

Full audio mixer

Per-input delay, compression, gating, equalisation and bus routing, which is the difference between a live mix and noise.

Instant replay

Multi-camera replay with slow motion, marked events and a highlight list, running while the show continues.

Multi-destination streaming

Stream to several platforms at once with independent bitrates while recording locally at a higher quality than any of them.

Isolated recording

Record individual sources alongside the program mix so the post production edit has clean angles to work with.

Changes in this build

  • Lower latency on network video sources across the whole input path.
  • Call system reworked with better audio handling for remote guests.
  • New title templates with live data field binding.
  • Replay engine improved for higher camera counts on the same hardware.
  • Reduced GPU load when many inputs are active but not on program.

What is in the package

  • vMix Pro installer, 64-bit
  • Title template library with data field binding
  • Call system components for remote guests
  • Sample production presets
  • Multilingual interface files, 9 languages

System requirements

ProcessorIntel or AMD 64-bit, high clock speed with eight cores or more
Memory16 GB minimum, 32 GB for 4K multi-camera production
GraphicsGPU with 6 GB VRAM, 8 GB or more for 4K
StorageFast SSD for recording, capacity scaling with the number of isolated recordings
Display1920 x 1080 minimum, dual monitor strongly recommended
NetworkGigabit wired networking for network video sources

Installation

  1. Extract the archive to a local drive.
  2. Install capture card drivers before the application so inputs are detected.
  3. Run the installer and apply the included configuration step.
  4. Set the recording path to a fast drive with plenty of capacity.
  5. Build a test production with two inputs and confirm audio routing before a live show.

Before you start

Wireless networking and network video sources do not mix, use a wired connection.

Test the whole chain including the stream target before the day, not during it.

Isolated recordings multiply disk usage quickly, check free space before a long show.

Questions about this title

How many inputs does Pro allow?

Unlimited, along with four overlay channels and eight recording outputs.

Can it stream and record at once?

Yes, and the local recording can be at a higher quality than any stream.

Does it do instant replay?

Yes, across multiple cameras with slow motion and a highlight list.

Can remote guests join?

Yes, through the call system, returning clean feeds with separate audio.

About this listing

This entry was checked on a clean install of Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) before it was published, and it is rechecked whenever the package is rebuilt. The figures on this page come from the site index rather than from the publisher, so the download count is what people here have actually pulled.

If a mirror stops answering, use the contact form and it gets replaced. Reports about a specific title are handled faster than general messages because they name the file, the mirror and the point at which the transfer stopped.

Requests for a different version, a different language build or an older release go on the requests page. Older versions of a title are usually still held even when only the current one is listed.
