SketchUp models the way people sketch: draw a face, push it into a volume, keep going. That directness is why architects, interior designers, set builders and fabricators reach for it when a concept has to exist in three dimensions before lunch, and why it survives next to far heavier modellers.
Pro is the desktop configuration, and the parts that make it professional are the ones around the modeller. LayOut turns a model into a documented drawing set with viewports, dimensions, scaled details and title blocks that stay linked to the model. Style Builder makes the drawing styles that give SketchUp output its recognisable look. Solid tools handle boolean operations properly, and the importers and exporters cover DWG, DXF, IFC, OBJ, FBX, STL and 3DS.
The extension ecosystem is effectively part of the application. Rendering engines, parametric tools, terrain modelling, structural analysis and fabrication output all arrive as extensions, and this build has the extension manager and the Ruby API fully available so they install normally.

Installation
- Extract the archive to a local folder.
- Uninstall an older release first unless you need both.
- Run setup, which installs LayOut and Style Builder with the modeller.
- Launch once and choose a template with the units you work in.
- Install your extensions afterwards through the extension manager.
Before you start
Choose the template units before modelling, changing them later does not rescale existing geometry.
Very large imported meshes will slow the viewport, purge unused geometry regularly.
Extensions from an older release usually work but check the ones that touch LayOut.
