Overview
AutoCAD Architecture is the full drafting application with an architectural object layer added, and the distinction matters in practice. A wall drawn here knows it is a wall: it has a style, a width, components, a fire rating and a height, it cleans up automatically where it meets another wall, and it reports itself into a schedule without anyone counting anything by hand.
The object set covers walls, doors, windows, openings, curtain walls, stairs, railings, roofs, slabs, structural members, spaces and grids. Doors and windows cut their own openings and move with the wall they sit in. Spaces calculate their own area and update when the boundary changes. Schedules read directly from the objects, so a door schedule is a view of the drawing rather than a separate document that goes out of date.
Underneath all of it the application is still AutoCAD, with the same command line, the same drawing file format and the same behaviour. A drawing made here opens elsewhere, with the architectural objects arriving as blocks and geometry through the proxy display path. For practices exchanging files with consultants who use plain AutoCAD that compatibility is the whole reason to be on this rather than a fully model based tool.
What it does well
Architectural objects
Walls, doors, windows, curtain walls, stairs, railings, roofs, slabs, spaces and grids that carry properties instead of being line work.
Automatic cleanup
Wall intersections, corners and joins resolve themselves by style and priority, so plans stay clean while they are still changing.
Live schedules
Door, window, room and finish schedules read from the objects, so they update when the drawing does.
Documentation tools
Sections and elevations generated from the model, with keynotes, tags, dimensioning and layer standards built in.
Full AutoCAD underneath
Same command line, same drawing format, same behaviour, so files exchange normally with consultants on plain AutoCAD.
Changes in this build
- Graphics engine updated for faster pan and zoom on large plans.
- Wall cleanup logic improved at multi wall junctions with differing components.
- Schedule tables gained better formatting control and grouping.
- Style manager reorganised so shared standards are easier to maintain.
- Faster open on drawings with many external references.

System requirements
| Processor | 2.5 GHz or faster, 64-bit, higher clock preferred over core count |
| Memory | 16 GB minimum, 32 GB for large projects |
| Graphics | GPU with 4 GB VRAM and a certified driver |
| Storage | 20 GB free, SSD recommended |
| Display | 1920 x 1080 minimum, larger recommended |
| System | Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11, 64-bit |
Installation
- Extract the archive to a local drive with plenty of space.
- Close any other Autodesk application and its licensing service.
- Run setup and choose the content libraries for your region.
- Let the style and template libraries register after the main copy.
- Launch once and set the drawing template and layer standard you work to.
Before you start
Use a certified display driver, generic drivers cause redraw problems on large plans.
Drawings sent to plain AutoCAD users display through the proxy path, send a bound copy if they need to edit.
Disable the automatic update service so component versions stay aligned.
Questions about this title
Is this different from plain AutoCAD?
It is plain AutoCAD plus an architectural object and documentation layer. The base application is the same.
Will consultants be able to open my drawings?
Yes, the file format is standard. Architectural objects display through proxies unless you export a bound copy.
Does it schedule doors and rooms?
Yes, schedules read from the objects and update with the drawing.
Can it generate sections?
Yes, sections and elevations are generated from the model and refresh when it changes.
About this listing
This entry was checked on a clean install of Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) before it was published, and it is rechecked whenever the package is rebuilt. The figures on this page come from the site index rather than from the publisher, so the download count is what people here have actually pulled.
If a mirror stops answering, use the contact form and it gets replaced. Reports about a specific title are handled faster than general messages because they name the file, the mirror and the point at which the transfer stopped.
Requests for a different version, a different language build or an older release go on the requests page. Older versions of a title are usually still held even when only the current one is listed.
