Overview
ArcGIS Pro is the desktop application behind most professional mapping work: cadastre and land records, utility networks, environmental assessment, transport planning, geology, forestry, epidemiology and anything else where the question is where rather than how many. Projects hold multiple maps, scenes and layouts together, so a 2D map, a 3D scene of the same area and the printed sheet all live in one file.
The analysis side is the reason it is not just a drawing tool. The geoprocessing library runs to hundreds of tools covering overlay, proximity, statistics, interpolation, network routing, terrain derivation and raster algebra, and any sequence of them can be captured as a model or written as a script and rerun against new data. Results are reproducible, which matters when a map has to survive review.
Data handling covers the formats a working office actually receives: file geodatabases, shapefiles, coverage exports, CAD drawings, imagery in the common raster formats, point clouds from survey scans, and tabular data joined by key or by location. Cartographic output is a full page layout environment with map frames, scale bars, north arrows, legends, grids and reusable styles, exporting to print ready vector or raster.

Installation
- Extract the archive to a local drive with plenty of free space.
- Install the prerequisite runtime package before the main application.
- Run setup and pick the interface language.
- Apply the included configuration step before the first launch.
- Open a sample project once so the style libraries index.
Before you start
Keep project data on a fast local drive, network stored geodatabases are noticeably slower.
Block the portal sign in prompt from starting, the desktop tools do not need it here.
Projects saved in this release do not open in an older one, export data if that matters.
