Overview

Mastercam is the bridge between a design model and a machine that has to cut it. Bring in geometry from the common CAD formats, define stock and fixtures, choose toolpaths, and the software generates the motion, then posts it out as code for the specific control on the shop floor. That last step is where most of its value sits, because a post processor tuned to a particular machine is the difference between code that runs and code that crashes a spindle.
