Overview
Office 2013 Professional Plus is a light suite by current standards, and that is exactly why it keeps getting installed. On an older machine with four gigabytes of memory and a spinning disk it opens faster than anything newer, and it still reads and writes the same document formats every organisation exchanges.
The Professional Plus configuration carries Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Publisher, OneNote, InfoPath and the Lync client. The 2013 line is where Excel gained Flash Fill, the timeline slicer and the recommended charts panel, where Word gained the read mode and PDF editing, and where the whole suite moved to the flat interface that later releases refined.
Both architectures ship in one image and are selected at setup. Deployment configuration samples are included, and the older installer technology in this release means an unattended install is a single command against a configuration file rather than a service driven process.

Installation
- Uninstall any other Office release first.
- Extract or mount the image on a local drive.
- Select the architecture that matches your add-ins.
- Run setup and wait for it to finish completely.
- Open Excel once and confirm the activation state.
Before you start
InfoPath is included but the services it was designed against are long gone, treat it as a form viewer.
Hardware acceleration causes flicker on some old integrated graphics, it can be disabled in the advanced options.
Turn automatic updates off to keep the installed build fixed.
