Overview
WPS Office 2020 is the compact alternative for machines that need to read, edit and produce office documents without a multi-gigabyte install sitting on the disk. Installation
- Extract the archive to a local folder.
- Close any office application that owns the document file associations.
- Run setup and choose which formats it should open by default.
- Do not launch it until the included configuration step has been applied.
- Open Writer once and confirm the advertising panel is gone.
Before you start
Let it take the file associations or leave them alone, but decide at install time, changing them later needs a repair pass.
The updater restores the free configuration if it runs, switch it off in settings.
Macro compatibility with other suites is close but not exact, test long workbook scripts before relying on them.
